The subject of a meticulous restoration lasting about ten years, Villa La Personala, owned by the family of Counts
Ferri Personali, is a building where
history truly comes alive, both that of the noble family that brought it to splendor and that of the surrounding village.

Located in San Giacomo Roncole, in the Municipality of Mirandola, La Personala owes its name to the Personali family, who moved there in 1472, when the structure still consisted solely of the crenellated tower built in the 12th century. Today, two other buildings stand beside it, constructed over the subsequent centuries, thanks to which the structure became a true villa and a landmark for the local community.

Following the tragic earthquake of 2012, the residence lost its tower and was severely damaged. Today, it serves as a multifunctional hub hosting various public and private events, thanks to a meticulous restoration effort that, where possible, involved the recovery of original finishes and elements. However, numerous floors and wall sections required the use of new coverings: the choice fell on materials from FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, a Brand of Iris Ceramica Group, with the aim of preserving the connection between tradition and modernity. From the Rialto collection, which evokes the charm of Venetian terrazzo, to the MaxFine collection, whose shades recall precious marbles and stones, each of the selected finishes guarantees high technical performance and refined, top-quality aesthetics.

On the ground floor, the full-body Rialto collection, in Beige and Earth colors, enhances the common areas and lounge spaces, while MaxFine, in the CityStone variant, adorns the two halls used for meetings and the internal staircases connecting to the upper floors. Here, the Calacatta and Travertino variants were used to lend brightness and stately elegance to the 12 suites.

On one hand, resistance to thermal shock and fire, impermeability, and easy sanitization make the ceramic surfaces used a functional and durable solution; on the other hand, the colors and finishes of each material recreate the timeless charm and beauty that once permeated the rooms of the residence.

Not only the recovery of surfaces, but also the structural consolidation and energy efficiency of the Villa, allowed the philological restoration to receive a certificate of merit in 2021 in the international FICLU competition “La Fabbrica nel Paesaggio” (The Factory in the Landscape), promoted by UNESCO.
